Once again no outright Club Records were beaten this season but we had a record number of Age Related Records plus Three new Team Records were set at 10 miles, 100 miles and 12 Hours. The Team Records are now held by Rob Dickinson, Bob Matthews and Duncan Park at 10 miles, Neil Cooper, Ian Cox and Martin Wilcock at 100 miles and Harry Haseley, Adrian Nichcolls and Dave Tomlinson at 12 Hours. We should remember that Age Records and Team Records were only started in 2004 so these may not be the best ever in the Club’s history whereas outright Club Records are the best ever since the Club was formed in 1950. I wrote out a record 28 Certificates for this season‘s achievements.
Club Members have done particularly well in the North Lancashire Time Trial Association competitions this year including winning the Best All Rounder Team thanks to Dave Tomlinson, Harry Haseley and Rod Goodfellow whilst Sue Cheetham won the Women’s BAR.
Hot off the Press are some more very good results from the VTTA (North Lancs. and Lakes) group where Sue was again Lady Champion and we had another team win in their BAR thanks to Harry Haseley, Rob Dickinson and John Draper.
The evening 10 mile Series again went well with 22 of our members riding at least one event at Edisford this year. Many Thanks to Harry for organising this series again this year,
Thanks are also due to our Open Event organisers Pete Briscoe (Circuit of Pendle), Mark Goodchild (Easter 10) and Mike Addis (Nick o’ Pendle Hill Climb) and also for offering to promote these events in 2010. Also thankls to all those members who gave their time to Marshal or do other jobs in order that the Club can promote these events.
Hopefully the 2010 Season will be even more successful for our members. Dave Brown Time Trials Secretary
