North Lancs RC Evening '10' series

The 2011 weekly evening 10 mile time trial series will be held on Wednesday nights from May 11th until August 10th (Note no event on June 15th). Anyone over 12 years of age may ride these events. Riders under the age of 18 must provide a completed CTT Parental Consent Form (available from the Cycling Time Trials website) which covers a full series of events. Riders who are not members of a Cycling Time Trials affiliated club may ride up to three times under the "Come and Try it" scheme. The entry fee is £1.50. Signing-on is from 18:30 to18:45, with the event starting at 19:00.

All events are held on the Edisford course. This consists of two and a half laps of a quiet country circuit starting in between Bashall Barn and Higher Hodder Bridge heading towards Higher Hodder and turning left at each junction and passing close by Edisford Bridge Hotel. Signing-on is on the car park opposite Roefield Barn on Edisford Road, Clitheroe.

New points allocation for 2011. North Lancs RC riders are awarded points for placings within the group of NLRC riders (i.e. non-NLRC riders will be ignored when awarding points) with 20 points for 1st, down to 1 point for 20th. The rider with the most points for their best 10 events at the end of the series in August will be awarded the '10' Series Championship Trophy. Note that any rider in the series who marshals at an evening '10' will be awarded 20 points, but on one occasion only. Mixed tandems (i.e. with 1 man and 1 woman) will have 5% added to their time  and all male tandems 7.5% before points are allocated.

All Club events are dependent on the voluntary assistance of the members and they could not continue without such help. It is the duty of Club members to assist at a minimum of one '10' or an open event. If you wish to offer your services please ring Harry Haseley on 01254 885611 in good time so that he can complete his rota. He needs to know who is available in advance in order to ensure that he has a person to fulfil every role.

2011 Results

Richard Sagar is the 2011 Tens League Champion with a score of 195 points after pipping Paul Taylor by a single point at the final round.

Malcolm Eccles Memorial Trophy

The Malcolm Eccles Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to whichever club wins a competition between North Lancs RC and Rossendale RC based on two Ten mile Time Trials. The times of the fastest five riders from each club on each night are aggregated, then each club's two aggregates are are added. The club with the lowest total wins the trophy. The first round is the Rossendale RC evening Ten on the Hapton-Huncoat course on Tuesday August 9th (HQ at Bentley Wood Way off the A679 next to junction 9 of the M65) starting at 7.00 pm. The second round is on the following evening, August 10th, on the Edisford course.

North Lancs RC beat Rossendale RC by 1-56. Rossendale won round 1 by 5 seconds, then NLRC won round 2 by 2-01.
