National and Local Cycling Organisations

British Cycling British Cycling is the Governing Body of Cycle Sport in the UK as recognised by the Sports Council. It is resposible for regulating Road Racing, Track Racing, Mountain Bike Racing, BMX events and Cycle Speedway. It publishes a quarterly magazine (free to members) providing details of Road, Track and MTB races, BMX and Cycle Speedway events to be held during the year.

CTT

Cycle Time Trials (formerly known as Road Time Trials Council) controls the time trialing on the roads of England and Wales. It publishes an annual handbook (price £4.50) providing details of Open and Semi-open time trials (but not club events) to be held during the year.
CTCThe Cyclists' Touring Club provides services to touring cyclists and promotes cycling issues nationally. It also provides a network of local branches which organise rides and social activities.
LVRCThe League of Veteran Racing Cyclists organises Road Races (and occasional Time Trials and Track Meetings) for cyclists over 40 years of age. Events are run on an age related basis with riders competing in age bands. A handbook and calender of events is included in the annual cost of membership.
VTTAThe Veterans Time Trials Association organises Time Trials for riders over 40 years of age under CTT regulations. Prizes are awarded in age bands based on actual time and on time relative to a "Standard Time" for the rider's age.
Audax UKAudax UK organises "Brevet" (less than 200km) rides and "Randonnee" (200km up to 1200km) rides along set routes with control points at which the rider must have his route card stamped. The rides must be completed at an average speed of between 15 and 30 kph in order to gain a certificate or optional medal.
NLTTAThe North Lancs Time Trials Association Is a group of local clubs which organise Open and Semi-open events under CTT regulations
TLIThe League International promotes Road and Criterium races in the UK
L&L SpocoLakes and Lancs Spoco organises a series of events, each run by member clubs, based on 'sporting' courses away from busy main roads. Some of the events are quite hilly.
SCScottish Cycling promotes cycle racing in Scotland.
